Everyone has stress in their lives. Career, school, relationships – all can be stressful, and sometimes cause us to react in irrational, or self-destructive ways. For some people, the use of drugs, alcohol or addictive habits can become a response to stress. Before long, addictions take their toll on the quality of life. I help individuals to overcome addiction and to regain control of their lives.
Life Changing Events
Sometimes we find ourselves in the midst of extraordinary, difficult situations. Transitions, loss and grief, catastrophic situations – times when it seems overwhelming and difficult to cope. Often the result of these situations is depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress. I work with people undergoing life-changing events, and help them to get back on track.
If you or someone you love experience stress-related behavior, or suffer from addiction, depression or anxiety, then you may benefit from seeing a counselor. My approach to counseling involves assessing the problem, defining goals for recovery, and taking immediate action to help the client resume normal life.
